Penetrating sealant for grout, tile and masonry
Applications
Suitable for applications on all types of tile and masonry surfaces, including grout (damp/wet or dry), natural stone, sandstone, terracotta, stucco, concrete, brick, Saltillo tiles, porcelain, marble and granite.
Instructions for use.
Use untreated. Test the product on an inconspicuous area first to determine its suitability for the intended use. The surface must be clean and dry, free of wax, protective coatings, finishes, and grout/cement film. Cover any paint or stain adjacent to the surface to be treated. Apply a thin, even layer using a pump sprayer, airless sprayer, brush, cloth, mop, or roller.
Typically, one coat is sufficient. However, on more porous surfaces, such as terracotta and sandstone, and on heavily trafficked surfaces, a second coat is recommended to ensure optimal protection. Wait at least twenty minutes before applying the second coat. The drying and curing time for a treated surface is approximately 2.5 hours, but for optimal results, it should be kept dry and free of dirt for at least 24 hours.
Note
For highly polished surfaces, such as porcelain, marble, or granite, a second coat is recommended. Polish small areas before the second coat dries. Allow larger surfaces to dry and harden for 24 hours. If necessary, any residue can be easily removed with a damp cloth.
Pre-treatment for grouting/release agent for cement veil
Ideal for use as a pre-treatment agent before grouting to prevent grout stains and to make it easier to remove excess grout/cement film.
Maintenance
Clean treated surfaces with water and a mild detergent. Do not use harsh cleaning agents such as scouring powders, ammonia, acids, or bleach.
Expected wear and tear
With proper maintenance of all treated surfaces, Seal-Guard® will remain effective for years. However, heavily trafficked surfaces should be inspected annually and, if necessary, recoated.
Consumption
1 litre is sufficient for approximately 40 m2, depending on the material to be treated and the application method.
